About Break Up

We’re a Brussels-based film editing studio with an inclusive gaze.

Born from the creative DNA of Pandemie, Belgium’s pioneering trailer editing house, and the narrative vision of award-winning filmmaker Ezra Verbist, we're dedicated to crafting audiovisual stories that truly resonate.

Our multilingual team of seasoned editors spans over a decade of experience, working on national and international projects from Brussels and beyond.

At Break Up, we’re driven by the idea that diverse perspectives spark growth. Let’s create new narratives together!

About Ezra

As a non-binary film editor, I believe that blending experiences and empowering collaborations lead to more authentic stories.

With years of editing experience in fiction and documentary, I bring a well-trained yet intuitive sense of narrative structure to the editing table.

Apart from being an editor, I’m a grounded dreamer, a recreational overachiever, an aspiring hypnotist and a sensitive Capricorn who directed and co-edited the award-winning documentary Just Jools, which was screened at internationally acclaimed festivals such as Sheffield Docfest.

In 2017, I founded Pandemie, the first Belgian company dedicated to film trailers. Cutting over a hundred trailers has sharpened my sense of rhythm, detail, and the emotional heartbeat of a story.

In 2025, I directed and co-edited the award-winning short documentary Just Jools, which screened internationally at festivals including Sheffield Doc/Fest, Docville, Kortfilmfestivalen, and Young Horizons.

Vulnerability, playfulness, and a deep engagement with human emotion are central to both my work and who I am. I’m especially drawn to underrepresented narratives from FLINTA and BIPOC voices.
